Not all slitted couplings are the same
By careful design Reliance engineers have created a slit pattern which minimises stress variations by maintaining a constant pivot length. With the Reli-a-Flex® design the pivot points travel back and forward without changing the centre piece angle. This results in uniform stress levels and accurate angular rotation.
Similar looking couplings may have a slit pattern which is a mirror image. With this alternative design the pivot points do not travel back and forwards with a constant centre piece angle. Instead they move in and out, and the centre piece angle varies. This causes stress variations and less uniformed rotation.
